What do you think? Is it difficult or easy to develop logical thinking in a child? We answer - it's difficult! But if you can engage the child, then it's incredibly simple and exciting! After all, children love to play with objects that are at home. We have selected 10 games from improvised items for you to choose from, which will help your child develop logical thinking.

To prepare one game, you will need a little creativity and no more than 5 - 10 minutes.

So, let's begin.

Logical games for children from plastic bottle caps

We know, we know, most likely you recycle plastic caps along with bottles, and you don't have any now. But that's not a problem, because by taking note of our exercises, you can collect the required number in a week, or even in two or three days.

GAME "Complete the row"

This game develops mathematical abilities well, thanks to the fact that it simultaneously engages hand motor skills and thought processes.

You will need: bottle caps 10 - 15 pieces, a white sheet and paints. Cut the sheet into equal rectangles, you will get 4 or 5 pieces. Then trace the cap on each rectangle to get 5 to 10 circles.

Then color the circles in the colors of the caps you have, for example:

  • Green-yellow-green-yellow-green-yellow-empty
  • Red-blue-red-blue-red-empty-empty
  • Green-yellow-red-green-empty-empty-empty

In each sequence, ask the child to fill the empty circles with caps of the required colors. Start with a row where you need to add one cap and gradually complicate the task.

GAME "Tic-tac-toe"

You will need the same caps and a clean sheet. On the entire A4 sheet, draw a field for the "Tic-tac-toe" game. Draw crosses on the caps of one color, and zeros on the caps of another color. Explain the rules to the child and together enjoy your favorite childhood game.

Logical games using homemade puzzles

Everyone knows that puzzles develop logic, attention, memory and imagination perfectly. But many children lose the desire to assemble anything when they see a pile of cards.

To engage the child with puzzles, we suggest taking a different approach.

You will need:

Unnecessary cardboard packaging from toys or any other items. Choose a suitable large picture on the packaging with the child and cut it out. Then draw lines on the back of the picture with a marker so that squares are formed and let the child cut the picture along these lines. The more squares you get, the more complex the puzzle will be.

Tip: if the child is no more than 3 years old, cut the pictures into larger parts so that it is easier for him to assemble.

Thus, you will get homemade puzzles that the child will enjoy assembling, since he made them himself with his own hands.

Life hack: if you want to start learning letters, then cut out names from the packages, cut the word into letters, and the letters into elements. You will get "assemble the letter" puzzles.

Magic cotton swabs

Yes, ordinary cotton swabs! But how many interesting games can be invented with them to develop logical thinking!

GAME "Smart constructor"

You will need colored plastic tubes, cotton swabs and gouache.

Take 10 multicolored tubes and cut each into 3 parts. Take cotton swabs and dip the edges in gouache so that the colors match the colors of the tubes. On one cotton swab, you can make both the same and different colors.

Let the paint dry for a couple of minutes and you can play. Ask the child to connect the cotton swabs with the tubes so that the colors match: a red swab connects with a red tube, etc.

The child can get one long or many short constructions, from which you can make letters, numbers and shapes.

GAME "Mosaic-knowledge"

You will need: 1–2 A4 sheets, cotton swabs and gouache.⠀

Just like in the first game, dip the edges of the swabs in paint so that different colors are obtained on both ends. Make 10–15 colored swabs.⠀

While the swabs with paint dry, draw a figure or letters in different colors on the sheet. Then place the dried swabs next to the drawing and ask the child to lay out the image with swabs of the corresponding colors.

Thus, from colored swabs you can compose not only letters and figures, but also lay out unusual drawings with animals, cars, houses and much more.

Logical games with a twist

GAME "Which item is extra?"

The child has long dreamed of playing with your makeup bag, or getting into dad's glove compartment. Today everything is allowed and we turn simple curiosity into an exciting logical game.

So, think about which of your things interest your child the most.

For example, take soap, toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel and a toothbrush. Place all this in front of the child and ask him to find the extra item. In our case, it's the brush. Because the rest are hygiene products, and this is an item.

A similar game can be made from clothing items, for example, by placing several items and a pair of shoes in front of the child. It's also interesting to find the extra among vegetables and fruits. Just take out the contents of the refrigerator and the game is ready!

Such games teach the child to find patterns by which objects differ, thanks to which logic develops excellently.

GAME "What letter does it start with?"

This game will not only develop logical thinking, but also help remember letters faster.

You will need: any household items and colored letters (you can take magnetic ones) or cardboard cards with letters.

Suppose, bananas, a pot, a mobile phone, a wristwatch. Place all this on the table, select the necessary letters from the alphabet and put them in a pile nearby.

Next, pointing to the item, ask the child: "What is this?" He answers: "Bananas", and you: "What letter do bananas start with?" If the child answers, ask him to find his letter "B" in the pile and place it next to the bananas.

Help the child if he has difficulty answering.

For children who already know letters, you can complicate the task and ask them to lay out the whole word, prompting what color the first, second and subsequent letters are.

Did you like our ideas? Now you know how easy and simple it is to make developmental games with your own hands. A little imagination and any game turns into a logical one.

How to teach a child to be tidy: recommendations for parents

How can you teach a child to be tidy? By setting a personal example. In a sports-oriented family, children grow up to be agile and resilient; parents who read books can spark a child’s interest in the mysteries of the literary world. Disciplined and tidy people live in clean and orderly environments. For younger children, cleaning in a playful way is a good option, while for older children, sharing household chores equally with parents is ideal.
