In the world there were and there are many talented people who write poems from the diapers, compose music, assemble robots and make discoveries. We usually think that nature has endowed them with superpowers that are only given to the select few. But developed talent in most cases is hard work and patience. Every child is born with a huge potential, which is important only to discover. In the article we talk about how parents recognize and develop the talents of the child from early childhood.

Stages of child development

The first talents and abilities of a child can be seen at the age of 2-3 years. During this period, children begin to form an interest in the world around them. At each stage, the child can be identified abilities for certain activities. Let’s take a closer look at these periods:

  • 1 - 2 years - some children begin to dance, barely hearing the music, others - try to sing along, and others - reach for markers to "decorate" wallpaper in the room. From parents during this period, you need to carefully observe your child to understand what he likes best and where he “pulls”.
  • 3 - 4 years - at this age, children perfectly absorb knowledge and learn the world. For daily activities with a child, modeling, drawing, construction, dancing and singing are ideal.
  • 5 – 6 years old – at this age, a child’s interests and abilities are formed when he tries something new. Therefore, it is good to write it in 2-3 circles of interests. It is important for parents to understand that, most likely, these hobbies will be temporary, but will become a good base for further disclosure and development of the child’s talent.
  • 7-8 years - during this period, many children have already decided on their "own" sport and interest groups. At this stage, it is important for mom and dad to support and encourage the choice of the child, even if it seems that it will not be useful in his life. Because children for a long time and with pleasure can only do what they really like. Such a child will grow up with an inner trust in himself and the world, will not be afraid to try new activities and find himself in a rapidly changing world.
  • 9-14 years is the age most feared by parents. During this period, the child is already formed stable interests, understanding what he wants in life, what is best and responds in the soul. In this difficult period, it is important for parents to teach their child responsibility, take the chosen activity seriously, bring it to the end and not give up if problems and difficulties arise.

How to understand what a child has abilities

Before answering the question “How to develop a child’s talent?”, you need to dwell a little more on how to recognize them. To help 4 simple recommendations that will help not to miss the ability of your child, and most importantly, not to miss the time:

Watch.

What does your child like to do? What games and toys do you like the most? Observe your child from early childhood, then you can understand what he is interested in and where his abilities manifest themselves best.

Create the conditions for creativity

For example, you notice that the child is addicted to cartoons and does not want to do anything else. You can go to the trick and say that turned off the Internet and offer him to come up with an occupation. Often children are so fond of the game that they forget about cartoons and gadgets for a long time. It can also be a good start to recognize and develop other talents.

Have the necessary materials at hand

Let your home have everything that a child needs in order to develop their abilities: plasticine, paints, colored paper, glue, crayons and so on. Thus, he will have the opportunity to try himself in different types of creativity and understand what he likes and what works best.

Let's give it a try.

Give me a choice: dance, play sports, or maybe the role of an actor in a children's theater? If it is difficult to answer immediately, no problem. Start slowly trying everything and see what “responds”. So the child will be able to understand what he is interested in and choose an occupation to his liking.

How to develop a child's talent

Now let's get to the point. For example, you have already noticed that the child has musical abilities: he danced to music when he did not know how to walk, from the age of 2 did not let out of his hands a toy piano, knows how to improvise and easily composes his melodies.

So what do we do next?

Don't impose your opinion

Do you think music is a waste of time? Don't jump to conclusions. It is not necessary to convince the child and try to realize his own dreams and ambitions through him. He's got his way. It is important to take into account his desires and interests and not to impose his point of view on him.

Practice and practice

Developed talent is not luck, but great work and practice. Therefore, it is worth enrolling a child in classes, in our example – in a music school for piano lessons, as well as to study at home. For talented people, practice is a way to achieve a goal, when you need to get out of your comfort zone and move forward, overcoming difficulties. It is very important that the child from childhood understands that the improvement of his abilities and success completely depend on the efforts made.

Encouragement and praise

Trying new things, children make great efforts. In the beginning, it may not work, so it is important to reward the child for their efforts, explaining that it is normal when the first, second and even tenth time it does not work out as you would like. Always believe in your child, trust them, support them with words and actions, and praise them. Your care and support will serve as an incentive to try better and will help you not to quit at the start.

Parents should become a link between the world around them and their children’s talents. On the one hand, help them develop them, and on the other hand, do not interfere with trying in different directions, even if it seems that it is time to stop searching.

Don't make these mistakes.

In conclusion, I want to draw attention to another important point. Often parents are so carried away by the development of the child's talents that they do not notice how at some point they begin to put pressure on him with the help of:

  • critics;
  • Comparison with other children;
  • Labels like "lazy", "stupid" and the like.

You don't have to do that. Your child may not have one talent, but several and the main thing is not to ruin his craving for new things and faith in himself.

How to teach a child to be tidy: recommendations for parents

How can you teach a child to be tidy? By setting a personal example. In a sports-oriented family, children grow up to be agile and resilient; parents who read books can spark a child’s interest in the mysteries of the literary world. Disciplined and tidy people live in clean and orderly environments. For younger children, cleaning in a playful way is a good option, while for older children, sharing household chores equally with parents is ideal.
